Alicia Leal is an expressive fine artist who addresses the problems of women in the dual culture and reality of Cuba.

-Born in Sancti Spiritus in 1957.
-Received her BFA Degree in 1980 at San Alejandro Fine Arts School in Havana City. 
-Member of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC).

Alicia's work can be found in these prestigious institutions:  the Center of Cuban Studies in NYC, the Embassy of Spain, the University of St. Thomas in Houston, the Museum of Las Americas in Managua, Nicaragua, the Museum Der Bildende Kunst in Leipzing, Germany and the National Gallery of Jamaica in Kingston, Jamaica.

Her solo exhibitions have been in the House of Culture, Diago Gallery and Espacio Abierto Gallery, all of which are in Havana, Ernest Thaelman Gallery, in Berlin, Robinson Gallery in Houston, and Chelsea Gallery in Kingston, Jamaica.

Group Exhibition venues include Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Tetriake Gallery in Moscow, the Universal Fair in Sevilla, Spain, and the Art Center of Guantanamo.
